Position Summary

This position serves as a personnel expert in independently processing the most complicated types of personnel actions, e.g., assist personnel requesting documents; provide service to walk-in customers with a valid request to include access, screening, reviewing, and auditing of their own military personnel record in the Automatic Records Management System (ARMS). Serve as the Super Verifying Official who manages the audit trails, including examining the audit trails; train new VOs on RAPIDS workstation using RAPIDS training guide; ensure that all VOs understand their responsibility to read and understand the "Message of the Day"; download and install new RAPIDS software when instructed to do so; and verify the identity of VOs.

Essential Functions of the Position

  • Program Administration: Provide general guidance on awards and decorations, process award recommendations, publicize criteria of newly established Air Force awards and decorations, and announce and update the award of the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award (AFOUA), the Air Force Organizational Excellence Award (AFOEA) to wind and subordinate units, and process Air Force Good Conduct Medal (AFGCM) award actions.
  • Assist personnel requesting documents; provide service to walk-in customers with a valid request to include access, screening, reviewing, and auditing of their own military personnel record in the Automatic Records Management System (ARMS).

  • May provide guidance to lower level Personnel Assistants Maintain relationships with both internal and external customers to ensure staffing goals are achieved.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Maintain and provide periodic statistics on timeliness as required by MPF Commander, weekly.
  • Verify and process inquiries concerning entitlements to prior awards and decorations and update award and decoration discrepancies
  • Acquire and maintain the stock of medals and binders IAW AFI 36-2803, unless otherwise directed by Wing leadership
  • Leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to research, collect data and possess excellent reporting skills.
  • Ability to effectively plan, implement, and manage assigned programs and functions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Work independently and as a part of a team to ensure proper work practices.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Must maintain high level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • Must be able to meet strict deadlines.

Work Environment

  • Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
  • Noise level can range from minimal to intense.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a SECRET security clearance and Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must be able to utilize a Personal computer, Microsoft Office Applications and web-based Data Systems Must have clear and compelling communication in a group setting.
  • The employee must demonstrate the ability to train on Us Air Force Data Systems to standards.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Employee must be able to speak in front of large groups effectively and have strong customer service skills.
  • Able to speak, read, write, and understand English proficiently and have the ability to clearly and concisely communicate both orally and in writing
  • Able to perform simple statistical mathematical problems for tracking purposes.
  • Ability to know when supervisor presence is required and the ability to use sound judgment until one is available.
  • Must have a State Driver's License, must be able to obtain a Govt. Driver's License.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.59 per hour
