Equal Opportunity Employer MinorityFemaleDisabilityVeteran Red River Waste Solutions is a people company that solves waste problems RRWS needs to add key members to our team We are a diversified service contract organization throughout the US that works with all levels of government This driving position is a very physically demanding job Light Truck Drivers are responsible for servicing an assigned routes by collecting and hauling solid waste or recycled materials to a landfill site transfer station or recycle plant This position routinely requires extensive physical exertion lifting pushing and pulling trash receptacles weighing up to 75 pounds from the ground approximately 300 times a day and enteringexiting the truck approximately 300 times a day All driving positions are exposed to extreme weather unpleasant odors and sights The hours and physical requirements vary by route or area RESPONSIBILITIES Attend and participate in all scheduled training briefings and meeting as required by Regional ManagerOperate truck safely in compliance with all local state and federal regulations and company policiesService assigned routes by collecting and hauling solid waste or recycled materials to a landfill site transfer station or recycle plantCompletely dump and replace trashrecycling cartscontainers neatly at the curb or designated areaClean up waste spills and overflowsConduct pre trippost trip inspectionsMaintain and update the drivers log sheetsMaintain and update route sheetsClean truck cleanliness inside and outMaintain professional behavior with employees manager and customers at all timesOther duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS Ability to drive a truck with an automatic or manual transmissionAbility to perform physical requirements of the job physical exertion including repetitive lifting pushing pulling and climbingGeneral knowledge of mechanics of trucksAbility to read and understand a mapGood written and verbal communication skillsPrevious truck driving experience preferredAbility to work in all weather conditionsAbility to work overtime weekends andor holidaysAdditional skills may be required to perform additional tasks specific to work location department or line of businessMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be at least 21 years of ageMust be legally eligible to work in the United StatesMust have at least a valid Class D Drivers License Must have a valid DOT medical cardMust have a three 3 year clean driving recordMust be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate understand and respond to questions directions traffic signs signals and safety training Red River Waste Solutions provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race color religion age sex national origin disability status genetics protected veteran status sexual orientation gender identity or expression or any other characteristic protected by federal state or local laws This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment including recruiting hiring placement promotion termination layoff recall transfer leaves of absence compensation and training
