What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scrum Master position at Red River?
Red River Technology is actively seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Scrum Master to join our team in supporting a mission-critical program for the Navy. As a Scrum Master you will help facilitate and guide teams in adopting and implementing the Scrum framework and Agile principles to maximize productivity and deliver value to our customers. You will work closely with stakeholders to organize and lead Scrum ceremonies, remove impediments, promote collaboration, and ensure adherence to Scrum principes and values.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and guide a software development product owner and team on how to use Agile/Scrum concepts, values, practices, and principles focusing on improving team effectiveness
- Encourage work completion without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work. Facilitate discussions and decision making and assist in mediation of conflict resolution. Lead and guide the team on how to get the most out of self-organization
- Give support using a servant leadership style whenever possible, lead by example, and demonstrate value-add principles
- Assess the Scrum maturity of the team and organization, and coach to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable for the team and organization
- Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or judgment, with an emphasis on problem solving
- Respond to and remove reported impediments that obstruct a development team's pursuit of its goals
- Work, collaborate, and communicate effectively, internally and externally, improving transparency and information sharing
- Organize and facilitate meetings, including preparing, moderating, and post processing. Help with product release planning and suspense enforcement
- Support and educate the product owner with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog and release plan
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field or applicable work experience
- Active Secret Clearance required
- 6 years of experience as a Scrum Master supporting Department of Defense programs
- Demonstrated experience with product lifecycle management
- Safe Scrum Master Certification, Certified Scrum Master, or other applicable certification
