What are the responsibilities and job description for the Screener position at RED ROCK BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES?
SUMMARY
The Screener is responsible for the screening of individuals seeking services at Red Rock prior to intake. They will all assist with additional duties such as coordinating and completing a variety of functions including the coordination for groups and organizing community events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides full screenings within designated timelines for individuals seeking Red Rock services
- Helps coordinate and schedule screenings for those at other sites or that require a screening by a staff person other than the screener
- Helps coordinate and schedule full intake that follows screening
- Provides resources and referrals when necessary
- Works as a liaison with community agencies and referral sources, representing Red Rock and initiating strong cooperative linkage with possible resources; services on outside committees when feasible
- Maintains core competencies in relation to working co-occurring disorders through continuing education and implementing skills into all aspects of treatment
- Assists Program Director (PD)/Regional Program Director (RPD) as needed in the coordination and organization of Community Team meeting
- Provides a back up to PD/PRD in maintaining effective working relationships and strategic alliances with consumers, other staff, the community and other non-profit organizations
- Coordinates approved services, facilitates communication between various service providers with the Department of Human Services (DHS) or other referral sources
- Helps coordinate therapeutic and support groups at the sites
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

Must meet one of the following parameters:
- Current BHCM II Certification
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a Behavioral Health field
- RN with Behavioral Health Experience
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in any field and 6 months of Behavioral Health experience
- 60 College credit hours in any field wand 12 months of Behavioral Health experience
- HS Diploma or equivalent and 36 months of Behavioral Health experience
- Have demonstrated recovery from a mental health diagnosis, substance abuse disorder or both
- Have lived experience as a caregiver of a child, youth or young adult who has mental health or behavioral health challenges
- Must Be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver's license and current insurance
- Six months experience in high fidelity wraparound program preferred
- Experience working with community resources
- One year of direct experience in Systems of Care preferred
