Summary of Position
The RRCC Computer Technology department is seeking instructors with a strong commitment to effective, engaging teaching at the Community College in computer related fields. The ideal candidate works well on a team and is adaptable to the ever-changing technology field. In addition, the ideal candidate, performs instruction-related duties and responsibilities in accordance with the philosophy, policies, and procedures of the Colorado Community College System and Red Rocks Community College. Instructional delivery may include day, evening, weekend, and / or remote or online courses in accordance with approved course of study or outline utilizing traditional and alternative methods of instruction (including computer-aided, on-line, distance learning, self-paced, interdisciplinary, etc.) where appropriate. Finalist must be willing to make Colorado their primary workplace, including for online courses.
- Payment is based on the credit hour / contact hour and class ratio as assigned to you by the department chair. RRCC starts at $1,149.00 - $1,263.00 / credit hour.

Essential Responsibilities
Classroom / Course Instruction : Required to meet all class periods and start and end classes promptly. Teach assigned curriculum and make use of required texts and materials. Provide students with a complete syllabus before the first day of class that includes information on course description, objectives, assignments, grading policies, and contact information. Provide data on student attendance (no-shows, last day of attendance, etc.), promptly. Use technology to facilitate learning including meeting the required minimum standards for the use of the College learning management system Desire2Learn (D2L.
Communication : Respond timely to students and RRCC staff every 24-48 hours during the class term and for at least one week after grades are submitted. Attend department staff meetings throughout the semester as scheduled. Provide updates to the department chair.
Service : Maintain updated and accurate grading records in D2L and submit all final grades by the due date in the college student information system, Banner. Provide consistent and timely feedback to students regarding progress and grades on assignments. Prepare for each class meeting and consider learning strategies that address diverse learning styles and a diverse community college student population. Class content and assessment methods should relate to course objectives. The instructor must be patient and respectful, while also providing their expectations for what is considered acceptable work. The instructor must display dedication to the class as well as the goals of the program.
Additional Instruction duties and responsibilities center on teaching excellence, which can include : learning and applying culturally responsive education and inclusive learning environments into classroom instruction and curriculum, demonstrating equity and inclusion skills that are measurable, student-focused, and support equity in achieving learning outcomes; active student engagement that empowers learners to think critically and achieve academic, professional, and personal goals.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications : An Associates Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Networking, Cyber Security, or a closely related field (Education, Mathematics, Engineering). Applicants must possess or be eligible to receive a CTE Credential in Information Systems in order to qualify for this position. This requires documenting verified, paid or unpaid occupational experience in the credential area within the last 7 years. For an applicant with a related bachelor's degree or higher the occupational experience is 2,000 hours; for an applicant with an Associate's degree, the occupational experience is 4,000 hours. The ability to teach in one of the following Computer related fields (Cyber Security, Networking, Computer Science / Secure Code Development, Programming, Game Development, Web Development, Computer System Analyst, and / or Database Administration.
Preferred Qualifications : A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Networking, Cyber Security, or a closely related field (Education, Mathematics, Engineering). Demonstrated teaching or training experience. Experience in at least one of the following : curriculum development,
supervision, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising. Fluent in multiple operating systems as well as virtual environments and system. Current industry and vendor certifications (Comptia, Linux, Microsoft, Oracle). Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse communities and supporting individuals from diverse populations, which may include but are not limited to, racial, ethnic, and gender backgrounds that are underrepresented.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities : Demonstrated ability to work with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds and typically underrepresented groups. Demonstrated ability and willingness to teach students using traditional and alternative methods of instruction. Demonstrated ability to integrate technology into the classroom where appropriate. Knowledge of computer applications. Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Knowledge of instructional objectives and course development techniques. Skills with managing, preparing, and delivering courses in the classroom and in the field. Ability to give and receive oral and written instructions and procedures. Have some knowledge working with D2L or a similar LMS.

Medical insurance is offered to instructors and other variable hour employees who have worked, on average, at least 30 hours per week in a 12-month period. RRCC / CCCS uses an initial 12-month measurement period to determine medical benefit eligibility, and a 12-month standard measurement period. Student employees are limited to working no more than 20 hours a week when classes are in session, and may work up to 28 hours a week, during academic breaks or breaks between terms at the discretion of the college, and non-classified hourly and temporary staff are limited to 28 hours in a workweek, depending on budget and need. Sick leave is granted in accordance with , accrued at one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
