Summary of Position
The Director of Aerospace Manufacturing provides comprehensive leadership and management for aerospace manufacturing programs that is limited and funded by the Opportunity Now grant. This includes overseeing grant budgets, procurement, and program development, while ensuring compliance with all grant requirements. The role also involves collaborating with the Workforce Services team to drive data analysis, program improvement, and outreach efforts. A key responsibility is fostering strategic external partnerships with industry stakeholders and regional sector groups to align workforce training with industry needs. Additionally, the position supports the growth of innovative workforce programs across various college departments, enhances multi-departmental collaboration, and represents the college at relevant community and industry events.
An ideal candidate for this position must possess strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to oversee grant operations, manage budgets, and ensure compliance while working collaboratively across teams. They should be adept at data analysis and reporting, maintaining strict adherence to grant requirements. Additionally, excellent communication skills are essential for building relationships with internal stakeholders, industry partners, and the community, alongside a deep understanding of workforce development in the aerospace manufacturing sector.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work from campus (primarily our Lakewood campus with occasional hours at the Arvada campus).
- Ability to travel to meet with, and network regional leaders in the aerospace and manufacturing industries.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to use data to inform decision-making and make recommendations. Ability and skill with data analysis, visualization, or management software.
- Proven ability to work in and build successful teams.
- Ability to effectively interact and build relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of student registration and higher education information management systems.
- Familiarity with the policies and procedures governing research funding in an academic environment, including knowledge of OMB circulars, cost principles, and indirect cost rates.
- In-depth understanding of federal, state, and private funding sources, regulations, and compliance requirements for aerospace manufacturing grants.
- Ability to guide activities to meet grant defined outcomes and deliverables
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and two years relevant experience, or a master's degree, or any equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
- Three years’ relevant experience.
- Supervision or leadership experience.

- This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
- The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.

Starting Salary
Starting salary range for this position is $75,000 to $82,500 annually, commensurate with education and experience. This is a full-time, FLSA-exempt position. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System. The Director of Aerospace Manufacturing is a term limited position that is 100 % funded by the Opportunity Now grant and as such is subject to renewal.
