The Document Control Specialist at Red's will play a vital role in supporting the Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) team by ensuring the accurate management, organization, and compliance of all documentation related to food safety, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance processes. Key Responsibilities
Document Management
- Organize, maintain, and track controlled documents related to FSQA processes, including food safety protocols, regulatory compliance records, and quality assurance procedures.
- Ensure all documentation aligns with USDA, FDA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain records for audits, inspections, and certifications such as HACCP and SQF.
- Regularly review FSQA documentation for accuracy and completeness to meet GFSI standards.
- Assist in preparing documentation for internal audits, third-party inspections, and regulatory reviews.
- Support the recall communication process by ensuring accurate documentation is available.
- Facilitate approval processes for changes in FSQA protocols or procedures.
- Track deviations and corrective actions within the FSQA system.
- Collaborate with FSQA team members to ensure proper implementation of document control policies.
- Provide training on document control systems and best practices to relevant staff.
- Manage electronic document management systems (DMS) used for FSQA documentation.
- Ensure proper archiving of obsolete documents while adhering to company policies.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in document control within an FSQA or food manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with USDA/FDA regulations and food safety standards such as HACCP and SQF.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in document management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

- SQF Practitioner or similar food safety certifications
- PCQI Certification (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual)
