Requirements
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
- Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Promotes, adheres, and is responsible for Food Safety and Quality.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school;
- OR six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Identify preventative maintenance problems or anomalies and identify appropriate solutions
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with employees verbally and in writing
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with vendors and customers verbally and in writing
- Work effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service

- Continuous standing in one location for long periods (up to 2-3 hours before break); up to 10-hour shifts
- Climbing or moving on ladders, steps, stairwells, walkways, and platforms,
- Carrying, lifting, lowering, pushing and pulling of heavy and/or awkward objects or loads. Lifting and lowering of objects up to 80 lbs. Pushing or pulling of heavy roller carts, bins, or transport containers up to 100 lbs.
- Frequent static and/or awkward work postures with neck and spine flexion while grasping, pinching, pulling, lifting, extending, flexing the hands and arms to perform tasks. A variety of arm and hand movements are required in applying force, movement and repetition.
- May be subject to reach, kneel, climb, stoop, crouch, crawl, bend or twist 66% of work shift
- This position operates in a professional office environment and within in the manufacturing operation.
- The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and other office equipment.
- All required GMP and PPE for plant operational safety is expected to be used.
- Position requires ability to communicate and work well with peers.

- Regular exposure to cold, hot and or humid conditions
- Climate extremes found in all areas of plant operations
- Frequently works near moving and mechanical parts
- Possible exposure to fumes and air borne particles
- Ability to work in close spaces
- Loud noise environment to be expected
- Subjected to changing of priorities, time pressures, constraints and high level of related stress
- May be required to use hearing, eye and toe protection when working around moving machinery
