Scope of Role
Supervise and coordinates activities of shipping, receiving, and stockroom with emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and service. Managing the loading of trucks and unloading of materials. Manage inventory, establish, and maintain communication with all departments, carriers, and others involved in the shipping and delivery of merchandise. Overseeing transportation of goods from one warehouse location to another, ensuring it arrives safely and on time.
Ensure that all parties work together to guarantee that shipments are packed, sent and delivered in a timely manner.
Study client or customer needs and manage inventory based on these needs. This often includes analyzing product orders to research the need for keeping certain items in stock. In addition, the Warehouse Supervisor ensures that facilities and processes conform to GMP, USDA, and FSMA regulations by managing Quality Systems and Documentation. Must be able to establish expectations for safety, quality, productivity, and reliability.

- Directs the daily stockroom activity for all functions, including prioritizing workload for job pulls. Monitoring the timely processing of incoming shipments and stocking the items in the warehouse.
- Schedules all manpower requirements for shipping, receiving and the stockroom.
- Coordinates all requirements (within Shipping, Receiving, and Stockroom) of internal departments to meet customer requirements for delivery and accuracy of shipments.
- Reviews shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, Customer Service requirements and other records to determine priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all inventory transactions and physical movement of materials from receipt to stocking, to distribution.
- Maintains accuracy of inventory by cycle count, physical inventories, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Oversees outgoing shipment activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. Participates with Purchasing and Customer Service to reduce shipping expense through carrier contracts.
- Develop procedures and train employees on stock transaction procedures and proper material handling.
- Provides input for departmental budget and manages budgeted expenditures.

- A.A. degree or equivalent work-related experience of 5 years in the food industry
- 2 plus years of previous supervisor experience
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and training skills.
- Bilingual Spanish a plus.
- Good basic math aptitude and ability to use scales and calculators.
- Above average mechanical aptitude
- Must have strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Must be available to work overtime as required.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in writing.
- Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of Technology Supply and LEAN Manufacturing processes are key
- Working knowledge of SQF, GMP’s, HACCP, etc
- Working knowledge of JIT, and Continuous Improvement Methodology
- Working knowledge of Inventory Control Management Systems
- Regular exposure to cold, hot and or humid conditions
- Climate extremes found in all areas of plant operations
- Frequently works near moving and mechanical parts
- Possible exposure to fumes and air borne particles
- Ability to work in close spaces
- Loud noise environment to be expected
- Subjected to changing of priorities, time pressures, constraints, and high level of related stress
- Required to use PPE when working around moving machinery
