Downtown Ithaca Restaurant has immediate opening for an Full Time Kitchen Staff.
Position: Full Time
Reports to: Owners
Supervises: Kitchen Team
Time Requirements: Must be able to work days, nights, weekend and holidays
Job requirements: Must have experience in all phases of kitchen management, food preparation.
Job Purpose: Daily prep needs, following recipes, service from hot line as well as cold line
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for kitchen Management by determining sequence of operation/action to take; assigning specific duties, maintaining harmonious relations and promoting efficiency
- Assist with building and maintaining in-house menu
- Recommend hiring and assisting in disciplinary action
- Establish economical methods of preparation for cooking & portioning standards & oversee cooking operations.
- Oversee preparation of foods, bear responsibility for final food product served, physical working conditions, kitchen tools and equipment. Responsible for hygiene, safety and sanitary conditions for back-of-the-house.
- Keep abreast of culinary market - education of externs & apprentices.
- Other duties as assigned
