Responsibilities
- Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, with attention to detail and artistic flair.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality by sourcing from reputable suppliers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Assist in menu development by contributing innovative sushi recipes and ideas.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices.
- Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management for ordering supplies.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant or food industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
- Experience working in fine dining establishments is a plus.
- Familiarity with catering services is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual accountability for tasks.
- A passion for culinary arts, particularly Japanese cuisine, with a willingness to learn and grow within the role.

Pay: $21.47 - $22.61 per hour
