Testing Specialist

Job Title: Shop Testing Specialist in St. Francisville, LA

Position Overview

The Shop Testing Specialist is responsible for inspecting and evaluating incoming and outgoing service jobs, as well as occasional field service requirements. They document initial conditions, test all relevant components to verify compliance, and ensure accurate recordings and reporting of results.

Key Responsibilities

INSPECTION

• Conduct thorough inspections and evaluations of incoming and outgoing equipment to record as-found conditions.
• Continually improve inspection documentation, both on paper and electronically.
• Understand and apply in-range and out-of-range tolerances, documenting findings clearly for effective communication.

TESTING

• Record all test findings accurately on the following: 3 – phase motors, diodes, SCR’s, low resistance ohms, DC motors, series & parallel circuits, insulation testing.
• Conduct all testing safely, adhering to recommended guidelines to prevent excessive wear and tear on equipment.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

• Participate and contribute to the continuous improvement of shop processes in line with evolving organizational and market needs.

TEAMWORK

• Work both independently and collaboratively to carry out inspection and testing tasks, contributing positively to the team environment.

OTHER TASKS

• Perform additional tasks or projects as directed by the Shop Manager, consistent with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience (10 years preferred) in electrical service repair of rotating electric and mechanical apparatus.
• Product-specific knowledge or relevant industrial experience preferred.
• Strong background in continuous improvement and corrective action procedures within the electrical service industry.
• Thorough understanding of electrical service repair methodologies and demonstrated experience with testing and inspection practices.
