Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of VFDs in various industrial applications. This role requires a strong background in electrical systems, as well as proficiency in diagnosing and resolving issues related to VFDs.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission Variable Frequency Drives in industrial settings.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on VFDs to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot VFD-related issues, including electrical and programming faults.
• Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to implement VFD solutions.
• Provide technical support and training to customers and staff on VFD operation and maintenance.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities.
• Must work independently in a fast-paced environment with overtime, weekend shifts, on-call duties, and off-shift work as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in electrical engineering or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience working with Variable Frequency Drives in an industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and VFD-related issues.
• Knowledge of relevant safety standards and practices.
• Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card & security passport
• OSHA Basic certification
• Valid driver’s license with no major violations in the past three years.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with various brands and models of VFDs.
• Knowledge of motor control and drive systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment as needed.
• Comfortable working in various industrial environments, including confined spaces and heights.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
