DESCRIPTION

RED is seeking a dedicated and experienced server to join our dynamic team. This position is part-time with the opportunity to increase to full-time hours. Weekend availability is required, flexible availability is preferred.

As a member of our service team, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional dining experience. Your responsibilities will include providing guests with detailed menu knowledge, tailoring the RED experience to meet the unique preferences of each table, and ensuring every guest leaves delighted.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred: 2 years of serving experience in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma or GED.

Basic: 1 year of serving experience. High school diploma or GED. Exceptions can be made for the right candidate, as RED is committed to training the right people.

JOB DUTIES - Essential

• Timeliness – arrives on time, dressed, and ready for shift.
• Uniform is clean, pressed and hygiene is well cared for.
• Ability to work hosted and private events as scheduled.
• Participate in preshift meeting.
• Provide efficient, friendly service. Greet guests in a timely manner.
• Keep assigned section well maintained. Follow proper steps of service with diligence.
• Strong knowledge of RED menus, cocktails, wine and sake list.
• RED’s menu changes seasonally. Servers are required to learn new menu items when menu is updated.
• Ability to confidently answer menu related questions.
• Use menu knowledge to guide guests through the menu. Suggest menu items based on guests’ preferences.
• Follow allergy protocol. Use menu knowledge to answer allergy related questions.
• Ability to communicate necessary modifications of menu items to guests.
• Alert expo/BOH of any allergies, dietary restrictions or special requests made by the guest.
• Proficient knowledge of POS systems. Enter order into the system in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure accuracy of all orders placed.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation and other health and safety regulations.
• Attend all classes provided by RED.
• Participate in regularly scheduled education components.
• Attend monthly FOH meetings.
• Strictly abide by liquor regulations.
• Prohibit service to minors.
• Prohibit overserving guests/intoxicated persons.
• Maintain a clean working environment.
• Complete opening and closing tasks.
• Assist other team members with closing duties if necessary.

JOB DUTIES - Non-Essential

• Cross-train and work as Carryout Specialist when needed.
• Assist Carryout Specialist with taking takeout/delivery orders over the phone when necessary.
• Assist Carryout Specialist with bagging takeout/delivery orders.

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication skills.
• Must exude genuine hospitality while interacting with guests.
• Ability to read the needs of guests – anticipate rather than react.
• Possess and maintain a strong sense of urgency.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
• Must be able to stand upright / walk frequently for 5 hours.
