What are the responsibilities and job description for the Freelance Financial Reviewer - Bankrate position at Red Ventures Freelance Network?
Bankrate is seeking experienced and detail-oriented personal finance experts to join our Financial Review Board.
As a member of the Bankrate Financial Review Board, you will be instrumental in helping fact check Bankrate.com content that might require an especially deep understanding of personal finance. This may include identifying and suggesting corrections for inaccurate or misleading information, helping provide clarity or identifying important information that may have been omitted from the copy. Your byline and biography will accompany content you review.
We are currently looking for contributors with extensive experience working in personal finance, such as Certified Financial Planners, Chartered Financial Analysts or other professions where a track record of topical expertise is displayed. Candidates can be experts in a single subject, such as investing, insurance or homebuying, or generalists who are well-versed in a range of subjects. Experience editing or writing related content is a huge plus.
Responsibilities
- Review our content to ensure accuracy and appropriateness for our personal finance audiences.
- Provide your expert point of view on a variety of topics.
What you need to know
- Review board members will need to review at least 5 articles per month to maintain their membership. The amount of work beyond that will depend on our content topic needs and your availability.
- We’ll assign content for review based on your areas of expertise via email; each content piece takes, on average, about 30 minutes to review.
- We’ll compensate you at an hourly rate.
- Each member’s byline is featured on the content they review, and their byline links to an individual bio page.
About you
- U.S. based professionals with some financial designation such as a CFP or CFA, or an extensive and proven track record of personal finance expertise.
- Passionate about providing accurate financial information to our audience.
- Able to meet deadlines.
- Comfortable with varying time commitments based on the availability of content.
