Database Administrator (On-site, NY Tri-State Area)
Redan LLC is looking for a Database Administrator to be part of a growing team.
The Database Administrator will support full systems life cycle applications development on various computer platforms, including a variety of client eligibility and recertification systems, employment / work engagement services, and claims systems with established standards, ensuring all solutions align with the agency's mission and objectives.
Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be adaptive to the changing needs of the organization. This candidate must have experience with building and maintaining highly effective relationships with team members and multiple stakeholders across multiple projects.
What You'll Be Doing
As the Database Administrator at Redan, you will :
- Implement conceptual design to physical database implementation, enhance and refine the logical design of the database.
- Monitor and manage SQL Servers and databases on a day-to-day basis; develop database designs, stored procedures, triggers, and constraints for new applications in MS SQL Server based on client standards.
- Provide day to day advice to users on data structures and terminology and develop policies and procedures related to the support and maintenance of database applications.
- Monitor databases for optimal performance and act to mitigate blocking and performance tuning issues.
- Provide guidance to Application Development staff for query, stored procedures, functions, and database design.
- Engage in aseline system performance and monitor for deviation, recommending and implementing improvements to slow running queries.
- Document database architecture, configuration settings, baseline performance metrics and planned and unplanned outages.
- Establish and implement best practices regarding data definition, data quality, data security, and data integration.
- Perform database administration duties, including installation, patching, backup and recovery management, space management, schema management, startup, and shutdown.
