Cost Accountant

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger subsystems for our inventory and for our manufacturing data. They will also provide reports on profit margin analysis for effective decision-making.

Duties

• Prepare and maintain accurate cost accounting records, including general ledger reconciliation.
• Analyze costs and prepare detailed reports on variances, trends, and forecasts.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial projections, ensuring alignment with company goals.
• Conduct financial report writing to communicate findings effectively to management.
• Carry out cost variance analysis, such as overhead, material variances, and PPV
• Update costs for labor, raw materials, and overhead, and make reports on improvements
• Assist with audits and provide cost data and analysis
• Monitor G/L accounts for multiple facilities' inventory and ensure accounting standards compliance
• Perform annual inventory counts, reconcile inventory, and look into variances
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support corporate accounting initiatives and improve financial processes.

Additionally, we require:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5 years of accounting experience and at least 2 years of cost accounting experience
• Organized with strong time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• ERP software experience
• Microsoft and Excel experience

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
