Job Summary
We are a small law firm looking for someone with 5 years of experience as a Paralegal to join our team in Louisville, KY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation and legal services, working closely with attorneys, legal assistants, and clients. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage cases from intake through final resolution.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the owner, attorneys, and legal assistants
- Communicate with clients, courts, counsel, and others
- Oversee PIP claims, property damage claims, and health insurance claim reductions
- Manage case files, including maintaining and organizing pleadings/discovery indexes, documents, subpoenas, exhibits, evidence, briefs, and appendices
- Conduct legal research, gather factual information from multiple sources, and draft legal memoranda
- Draft discovery documents, interrogatories, requests for production, and responses
- Prepare and e-file legal documents in district, state, and federal courts, including complaints, pleadings, motions, appellate documents as well as file workers' compensation claims and probate documents such as petition for probate of will or appointment of personal representative
- Coordinate and summarize depositions, and prepare trial binders and exhibits
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, witness coordination, and at trial
- Strong multitasking, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and manage a workload with a positive self-starter attitude and minimal supervision
- Capable of managing legal assistants and reporting to lawyers
- Proficiency in managing cases from intake to final resolution, including appeals
- Alignment with firm values of humility, integrity, and tenacity
Salary : $45,000 - $65,000
