Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Warehouse Manager to supervise and coordinate the activities of workers involved in packaging and shipping products. The Warehouse Manager will ensure efficient warehouse operations while fostering a safe, clean, and productive work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the fast, efficient operation of the warehouse.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors on training, planning, and executing daily functions.
- Take a hands-on approach to all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, loading/unloading containers, locating, picking, and shipping.
- Supervise and direct warehouse personnel, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Estimate personnel needs and create work schedules.
- Adjust and reassign personnel as needed to meet changing priorities.
- Review and assign work to subordinates, providing guidance and support.
- Resolve operational issues and ensure all daily shipping targets are met.
- Oversee order preparation and ensure the accuracy of outbound shipments.
- Train, mentor, and coach warehouse employees to ensure optimal performance.
- Enforce safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise warehouse employees and manage their performance in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, as well as assigning and directing their work.
- Provide regular performance appraisals, reward, discipline employees, and address complaints or issues that arise.
Requirements
Qualifications: To perform this role successfully, the individual must be able to effectively perform all essential duties. The requirements listed below are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. - Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar role in a manufacturing or logistics environment (pet food experience is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Forklift experience in managing a warehouse floor.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and ability to enforce compliance.
- A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Physical Demands:
The employee is regularly required to stand, use hands for handling or feeling, reach with hands and arms, and engage in actions like stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Walking, talking, and hearing are occasionally required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities needed include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
