Overview
We are seeking a skilled Site Reliability / Service Engineer to manage and optimize Linux-based High-Performance Computing (HPC) clusters in a cloud environment. The role involves maintaining cloud infrastructure, ensuring security compliance, deploying system updates, and improving DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices. The ideal candidate will have experience in Azure-based HPC environments and a strong background in cloud security, Linux, and networking.
This role is ideal for a cloud and Linux expert with a strong understanding of security, networking, and HPC environments, who thrives in a fast-paced, high-compliance setting.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Plan, implement, and test cloud infrastructure changes while minimizing downtime and ensuring compliance with security policies.
- Monitor and track evolving cloud security requirements and apply them to existing systems.
- Deploy and test system updates while ensuring minimal disruption to users.
- Communicate infrastructure changes, security requirements, and plans across cross-functional teams.
- Maintain and enhance DevOps and IaC systems for reproducible and scalable deployments.
- Support simulation engineers in optimizing compute resource utilization.
- Document system changes, best practices, and operational procedures.
- 4 years of experience in cloud infrastructure management.
- 2 years of hands-on experience with Azure cloud services.
- 2 years of experience in cloud security and compliance.
- 4 years of experience working with Linux-based environments.
- 2 years of experience with networking in cloud environments.
- 2 years of experience in DevOps / Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
- 1 year of experience with Microsoft-internal systems for tracking security and compliance of Azure resources (e.g., Service360).
- Experience with Azure CycleCloud or other HPC resource management tools.
- Familiarity with national superconducting centers or other large-scale HPC environments (e.g., NSF Access, ORNL).
- Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting.
