About the Peer Advisor / Breastfeeding Counselor Role
Crown Staffing is seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Peer Advisor / Breastfeeding Counselor in Louisville, KY. This role is dedicated to supporting new and expecting mothers by providing education, encouragement, and breastfeeding guidance. The ideal candidate will have personal experience with breastfeeding and a passion for helping others navigate their breastfeeding journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide breastfeeding support through phone consultations, home visits, and hospital visits.
- Facilitate mother-to-mother support groups to provide encouragement and education.
- Document client contacts, progress, and concerns while providing appropriate health education materials.
- Assist mothers with follow-up appointments, postpartum recovery, and feeding concerns.
- Attend quarterly meetings and on-site visits to stay informed on best practices and policies.
Requirements
- Must have participated in the WIC program (Women, Infants, and Children program).
- Personal breastfeeding experience of at least 6 months is required.
- Reliable transportation for in-person visits and meetings.
- Must attend a two-day training session (dates TBD).
