POSITION PURPOSE :
The Recruiting Specialist is responsible for delivering a best-in-class recruiting process for all of Reddy Ice’s manufacturing, distribution, and corporate locations. This is achieved by working with management to identify desired skills and experience and employing various recruiting techniques to attract and identify suitable candidates through various methods. This position is also responsible for identifying relevant retention strategies. This is a high-volume recruiting role in a fast-paced, dynamic, results-oriented environment. Work is performed and composed of a variety of different tasks, calling for use of judgment and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.

Actively utilizes lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, A3, etc.) to inform and assess business opportunities to drive continuous improvement. Lead and participate in Kaizen and value stream mapping activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Identifies suitable recruiting methods, and posts positions accordingly (Reddy Ice website, social media, job boards, professional organizations, and other appropriate venues). Identifies and employs other creative sourcing methods to improve the talent pool, candidate quality, the candidate experience, and time-to-fill.
- Collaborates with internal hiring managers to understand their hiring needs, business strategies, and hiring goals by developing relationships throughout the organization. Performs position discovery sessions with hiring managers to collect relevant position information to ensure candidates meet the position requirements. Suggests updates to job descriptions as necessary. Designs interview questions that reflect each position’s requirements.
- Manages full-cycle recruiting from job postings through screening, interviews, and offers.
- Monitors trends in the market and analyzes recruitment data available to the organization. Suggests opportunities for continued process improvement, new technology, new social media platforms, etc.
- Assists with senior leadership recruiting as needed / assigned.
- Provides training and ongoing support to the seasonal recruiting staff.
- Efficiently and effectively fills open positions with the right talent and tracks candidate flow.
- Monitors time-to-fill, candidate sourcing, cost / hire, and other talent acquisition metrics.
- Monitors turnover rates, identifies high turnover locations and root causes, and reports on metrics. Suggests continuous improvement processes to reduce turnover. Proactively seeks market intelligence to gain competitive advantage in attraction, assessment and sourcing methodologies.
- Attend job fairs, community and other hiring events (virtual and in person) as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Typical office environment, generally sedentary position using computers, calculators, phones, and other office equipment. This position works in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment. The ability to manage stress, build professional and collaborative relationships, and reason through complex business situations is essential. Weekend and evening work may also be required. A valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR is required due to this position’s minimal travel requirements.
