POSITION PURPOSE
The Director of Supply Chain Planning and Procurement is responsible for leading the material and asset planning, procurement, sourcing, and vendor management functions within the supply chain department.
This leader will be asked to lead a team that will effectively plan, source, procure, and optimize materials and assets across all Reddy Ice business divisions (DSD USA, Craft Ice, International). This dynamic and collaborative leader will be charged with developing and executing standard cross-functional processes and strategy to plan and manage direct and indirect material inventory, parts and supplies, and merchandiser assets.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the networkwide procurement and strategic sourcing activities to include innovative and optimized sourcing and negotiating strategies to deliver cost savings and leverage bulk purchasing power where possible.
Categories to oversee include, but not limited to : procured goods and services, parts, supplies, merchandiser assets, direct materials, indirect materials and energy procurement.
Responsible for managing and developing key supplier relationships and accountability through quality and service KPIs.
Own the energy procurement and overall sustainability initiatives for the company by working with key partners to drive this value.
Business lead for the procure to pay process and support implementation through the Microsoft Dynamix 360 ERP implementation.
Support the Business Continuity Planning requirements for Reddy Ice and drive accountability to our partners and suppliers.
Through an effective S&OP process, own and drive cross-functional collaboration to promote the proactive communication of demand and available supply of assets and resources across the network.
Primary liaison between commercial, operations, finance, and supply chain teams to evaluate network demand and available supply of merchandisers.
Drive the development of more refined event planning processes
Collaborate cross functionally to develop a forecast and supply plan to effectively plan raw material inventory and ordering centrally.
Responsible for centralized merchandiser and ISB (in store bagger) asset planning and inventory management processes and systems.
Lead the collaboration with sales, field operations, and field services to ensure accountability to the life cycle management process
Partner with Field Equipment Services Director to develop and processes to effectively plan and execute merchandiser and asset placement.
Continuously develop robust reporting and analytics to support business requirements to drive value added action. This leader will be asked to develop and drive standard BI reporting for Supply Chain and support pro forma business case development with the finance and commercial teams.
Responsible for the management of materials requirement planning specifically for poly bags and other supplies that can be planned for and managed centrally. Leverage lean tools such as a Kan Ban system to assist field operations on efficient inventory management and planning.
Leads, collaborates and demonstrates the Lean principles and utilizes the Lean management system to effectively manage daily activities and drive improvements across teams and the enterprise. Actively utilizes Lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, A3, etc.) to inform and assess business opportunities to drive continuous improvement.
Liaise with field operations and functional areas to monitor / improve performance to plan, adjust and address cross-functional, customer service, copacker, and distributor continuous improvement opportunities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- 10 years of progressive leadership / executive level supply chain experience within multi-state, multi-unit retail and distribution network
- Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Supply Chain, Finance or another related field; MBA preferred.
- Experience designing and negotiating supplier contracts, conducting strategic sourcing and cost reduction initiatives throughout a product category or commodity.
- Thorough knowledge and experience in managing an and end to end supply chain planning process and network. Demand, Supply, MRP, Scheduling, Inventory strategy and days of supply management required.
- Experience with working ERP planning and financial programs required.
- Lean Management background – at least 5 years of experience utilizing Lean practices
- Direct multi-site profit and loss (P&L) management experience
- Expertise with Microsoft applications, (, Excel, PowerPoint and Word) heavy experience with modeling large amounts of data to help drive strategic decisions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This role will have a team of 2 functional managers and their direct reports.
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is generally performed within an office environment. Generally sedentary in nature, but will require occasional standing, and frequent walking. Work is generally performed with standard office equipment (computer, printer, copier, telephone) Visits to manufacturing plants may result in extreme temperature fluctuations. Collaborating with the FES and Engineering teams may require the ability to climb a ladder. A valid driver license and acceptable MVR is required to support 30% travel requirements for this position.
