What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator/Forklift Operator position at Reddy Ice?
Responsible for the safe operation and sanitation of high speed production equipment and associated support equipment such as metal in product detectors, film wrappers, conveyors etc. In addition the production technician must be willing & able to: - Perform product & size changeovers. - Complete daily production & quality logs. - Keep work area neat and orderly. - Carry out daily & weekly maintenance on assigned equipment. - Assist plant engineers and mechanics in completing higher level maintenance tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Requires minimal supervision

- Demonstrates a positive attitude and willingness necessary to support manufacturing operations
- Ability to read, write & use general communication skills
- Understands basic hand tools
- High School Diploma or GED
- Conditions vary from office conditions to areas inside and outside of plant
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Responsibilities

- The job requires working nights and weekends as directed
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work must be performed safely to avoid injuries and property damages. Work must be done in such a manner to maintain product flow in the production room while stacking ice and loading trucks.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
No supervisory responsibility
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must have high school diploma or GED with the ability to count product and completed simple paperwork. Forklift certified is helpful.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift and stack product up to 45lbs up to12 hour shifts during peak demand periods. Must be able to work in room temperatures of 45-60 degrees and in the freezers at 15 degrees.

Pay: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour
