We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Infant Room Teacher to join our dynamic team at The Preschool at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. As an Infant Teacher, you will be responsible for fostering a nurturing, safe, and educational environment for children in our infant and toddler room. You will play a key role in developing and implementing age-appropriate activities to promote the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development of each child.
Duties
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a cohesive teaching team to ensure smooth classroom operations and create a positive environment.
- Plan and implement individual and group age-appropriate activities that actively engage children and promote their growth.
- Foster children’s social, physical, cognitive, and emotional development through structured activities and positive interactions.
- Communicate frequently with parents, providing informal updates, daily reports, and conducting parent-teacher conferences.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and healthy classroom environment by maintaining appropriate hygiene, cleanliness standards, and safety procedures.
- Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all program policies and state regulations are met and followed.
- Attend a minimum of 16 hours of required continued education training annually, including 15 hours of general training plus BBP (Bloodborne Pathogens) and First Aid/CPR certification.
- Assist in the general upkeep of the preschool as necessary and be open to other assigned duties.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare setting is preferred.
- A passion for early childhood education and a commitment to fostering positive, supportive relationships with young children.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a teaching team and parents.
- Ability to create a safe and nurturing classroom environment while ensuring children’s physical, emotional, and developmental needs are met.
- Knowledge of state regulations for childcare facilities.
- Ability to track and maintain accurate records of children’s progress and development.
- Must meet all training and certification requirements, including First Aid/CPR and BBP training.
