Position Summary :
The Children’s Ministry Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Children’s Ministry Director and ensuring the smooth operation of Sunday programming and volunteer engagement. This role involves coordinating volunteers, assisting with teaching, and providing administrative and relational support to children, families, and the ministry team.
Tasks :
- Schedule and communicate with volunteers weekly regarding their volunteer shifts for Sunday worship. Send out lessons and reminders for teaching a week in advance.
- Assist CM Director by checking in with the volunteers for each REH Children’s class by praying with them, responding to their questions or needs pre-Sunday morning service.
- Assist in teaching or fill-in as needed.
- Maintain consistent, accurate attendance records for classes.
- Serve as the point of contact for the Children’s Ministry in the absence of the Children’s Ministry Director.
- Manage a birthday calendar and send greetings to children and volunteers.
- Lead a monthly Family Community Group to foster connection and support among families.
- Help plan and execute Special Events such as volunteer lunches and trainings, VBS, service projects, church outreaches.
