SUMMARY OF JOB
The Radiation Oncology/Medical Oncology Registered Nurse must be able to perform all aspects of the nursing process. This registered professional nurse specializes in the care of individuals receiving radiotherapy for the treatment of cancer. The Radiation Oncology Nurse will assist the Radiation Oncologist in the overall care of the Radiation Oncology patient. The Nurse will assist with the care of both the patients receiving external radiation therapy, as well as the patient receiving brachytherapy (HDR). The Radiation Oncology Nurse is responsible for assessing the patient’s needs, planning for the patient’s care, implementing the plan for the patient, and evaluating the success of the plan. The Radiation Oncology Nurse will also cover the Medical Oncology Unit (MOU) and patients receiving infusion therapies such as immunotherapy, blood products, and other intravenous medications according to established standards, as needed.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS
Registered Nurse licensed in Pennsylvania
Two years Med/Surg/Oncology or other specialty experience
Chemotherapy Administration Certification preferred
Certification by the Oncology Nursing Society (OCN) preferred
IV Certification
CPR Certification
