What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher and Aide position at Redeemer Lutheran Early Childhood Center?
Position: PRESCHOOL TEACHER
Accountable To: RLECC Director
Purpose: To help support RLECC’s mission of providing a quality Christian education that promotes individual growth of all children.
Qualifications:
a. Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a child related field (preferred) OR
b. Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.
c. First Aid/CPR/AED training preferred but not required
Background Check: Fingerprinting is required by the State of Michigan. Employment may be offered contingent on a clear background check following Michigan State Licensing Regulations.
Job Duties: A Preschool Teacher will:
1. Provide a Christian environment where God’s love is shared with children, staff and parents by:
a. Promoting Christian values and curriculum.
b. Maintaining a positive attitude, being reliable, flexible and dependable.
c. Showing respect and following confidentiality policies.
d. Being kind, helpful and considerate to all.
e. Communicating appropriately with parents, children and staff.
f. Valuing and respecting each person as an individual.
2. Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the classroom program by:
a. Developing weekly lesson plans with Christian emphasis.
b. Assisting in the maintenance of classroom records
c. Maintaining inventory and submitting supply and equipment needs to the Director.
d. Performing child assessments and sharing information with parents.
3. Supervise the classroom by:
a. Knowing and enforcing state licensing regulations.
b. Maintaining adult to child ratios.
c. Abiding by and enforcing policies outlined in the employee and parent handbooks.
d. Maintaining a safe & clean environment at all times in the center and playground.
e. Assigning daily duties to classroom aides.
f. Assisting the Director in the evaluation of staff.
4. Promote Redeemer Lutheran Early Childhood Center to the community and congregation by:
a. Attending all special events including open houses, parent teacher conferences, singing in church and special family nights.
Wage:
1. Starting wage base is $16 per/hour. Adjustments may be taken into consideration for level of education and experience.
2. The employee may be entitled to partake in the Concordia Retirement Plan (CRP) and Concordia Disability and Survivor Plan (CDSP).
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
