What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Manager position at Redeemer Presbyterian Church?
OVERVIEW: The part-time facility manager will oversee the maintenance and operations of our church facilities including but not limited to the responsibilities listed below.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- FACILITIES MAINTENANCE
- Perform routine inspections of the church building and grounds to identify maintenance needs.
- Coordinate and oversee maintenance and repair tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, pest control, and general building repairs.
- Ensure that all building systems are in good working order and promptly address any issues that arise.
- Schedule and supervise contracted maintenance services as needed.
- Maintain the appearance of flower beds, playground, parking lot, and other outdoor areas.
- CUSTODIAL DUTIES
- Perform routine cleaning of interior of building to maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the church facilities, including sanctuary, offices, classrooms, restrooms, kitchen, and common areas.
- Develop and implement a cleaning schedule for regular and seasonal maintenance tasks.
- SECURITY AND SAFETY
- Conduct safety inspections and address any hazards or concerns promptly.
- Work closely with Security Team Lead in emergency situations and coordinate with appropriate authorities when necessary.
- EVENT SUPPORT
- Assist with setting up and tearing down for church events, including services, meetings, and special gatherings.
- Be physically present during Parents Day Out to address any building needs that arise. Parents Day Out runs concurrently with Midway ISD on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
- COMMUNICATION AND COORDINATION
- Serve as the primary point of contract for building related inquiries from staff, officers, and members of the congregation.
- Communicate regularly with church leadership regarding building maintenance needs, budget considerations, and project updates.
- Collaborate with other church staff and volunteers to ensure smooth operations and coordination of activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in building maintenance or facility management is strongly desired.
- Training or certification in facility management or related field preferred.
- Must be a member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church OR sign a profession of faith.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring a clean and safe environment for our congregation and visitors.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
