What You Can Expect Working in the Supply Chain Intern Position
As a Supply Chain Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting key functions like Purchasing, Planning & Scheduling, and Inventory Management. Your responsibilities will include streamlining supply chain activities, ensuring timely availability of documents, parts, and materials, and assisting with process improvements to enhance efficiency. You will also support inventory management, order fulfillment, and vendor communication to ensure smooth coordination and resolution of supply-related issues. This role provides opportunities to collaborate across departments, including Service and Manufacturing, while contributing to overall supply chain performance.
Responsibilities
- Inputs and consolidates data from various departments to assist in setting budgeted material requirements for projects.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of a preferred supply base by collaborating with external vendors and gathering necessary information.
- Communicates with external vendors to request quotes, product details, and delivery updates.
- Navigates internal systems to input and update data, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Promotes and holds others accountable for a safe working environment.
- Observes safety and security procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of supply chain concepts (e.g., procurement, inventory management, logistics).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- Ability to provide professional updates via phone and email.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working experience in SAGE
- Valid Driver’s License.
