What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction/Maintenance Worker position at Redhawk Services?
A small, local general contractor looking for full-time construction and maintenance help. Basic construction skills are helpful but will consider an entry-level person. A valid driver's license, drug testing and background check are required.
- Performing routine maintenance – carpentry, drywall, garage doors, roof repairs, etc.
- Plumbing such as faucet repair, broken water lines, condensate line, etc.
- Fixing potential safety hazards i.e. safety cones, trip hazards, etc.
- Taking apart or constructing scaffolding, bracing and other temporary structures for the construction site
- Setting up and tearing down scaffolding
- Operating equipment and heavy machinery used in construction sites such as forklifts and scissor lifts
- Snow removal by operating truck mounted snow plows, bobcat snow pushers, truck mounted salt/gravel spreaders, and walk behind snow blowers
- Operating power tools i.e. saws, drills etc.
- Loading and unloading building materials
- Cleaning the construction site by removing hazards materials and debris from the worksite
- Completing work orders as assigned for multiple properties
- Assisting craft workers such as carpenters or electricians with their duties, if needed
- Helping maintain work orders for each facility and completing them as needed
- Conducts snow removal by operating snow plows and other snow removal equipment when necessary
- Mowing, edging and fertilizing lawns
- Weeding and mulching landscape beds
- Trimming small trees, hedges and shrubs
- Grounds keeping if the facility contains lawns or other outdoor areas in need of maintenance
- Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked
- Staying up to date with safety classes
