ReDiscover is looking for a Co-Responder to add to our team in the Raytown Police Department!

WHAT WE DO
Our Mobile Crisis Response Services partner with local law enforcement and CommCARE. The goal is to provide crisis intervention and access to resources for individuals who have had police contact or have contacted the national or local crisis line. The program focuses on real-time crisis response to meet the individual where they are both physically and emotionally to provide the right intervention at the right time and to reduce emergency room visits and incarceration.

At ReDiscover, while every day is different, a typical day may include the following roles and responsibilities:
- Responding in person to 911 behavioral health calls alongside law enforcement to conduct comprehensive assessments including risk assessments and crisis intervention, and recommending the appropriate level of care, providing resources and referrals.
- Providing follow-up services including linking to services, monitoring, and crisis management.
- Providing information and consultation with other departments and referral sources to ensure connection to services.
- Developing intervention plans with ReDiscover teams and other community agencies to advocate for individuals’ needs.
- Receiving and reviewing CIT reports and working with the Community Behavioral Health Liaisons (CBHL) to determine appropriate next steps, including follow-up needs after the initial call to ensure the crisis has been resolved and/or if additional resources are needed.
- Managing and maintaining accurate and timely data collection and documentation.
- Assisting in program development-related activities including data collection, reports, conferences, and relevant trainings.
We are focused on your development and will spend time helping you continue to grow as a Co-Responder. However, here are some things that you will need before starting with ReDiscover:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a social science field is required; Master’s degree in a social science field is strongly preferred.
- Clinically or provisionally licensed in the State of Missouri as an LCSW, LMSW, LPC, or PLPC preferred.
- Prior crisis experience is preferred.
- Work a regular, consistent schedule of Monday - Thursday from 2:00 PM (CST) to 12:30 AM (CST) or Tuesday – Friday from 2:00 PM (CST) to 12:30 am (CST).
- Work is performed on-site at the Raytown Police Department, located at 10000 E. 59th St., Raytown, MO 64133.
- A valid automobile driver’s license, appropriate automobile insurance, and a safe, reliable, registered automobile available for use during work.
- Working knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders.
- Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as G-Suite.
