ReDiscover is seeking a Counselor Technician to add to our Clustered Apartment Program (CAP)!

WHAT WE DO
ReDiscover's CAP Program provides Intensive supportive housing for adults with severe and persistent mental illness. Clients receive medically necessary on-site services in a clustered apartment setting because of a history of failure in multiple community settings and/or the presence on an ongoing risk of harm to self or others which would otherwise require long term psychiatric hospitalization.
At ReDiscover, while every day is different, a typical day may include the following roles and responsibilities:
- Monitors clients in a safe environment, performing and documenting client safety rounds. This includes ADL monitoring and coaching (i.e. life skills, communication skills, community integration, etc.).
- Facilitates structured activities with clients in accordance with their goals and treatment plan.
- Demonstrates culturally competent respect for all clients, guests and staff through verbal and non-verbal behaviors and assists them as needed.
- Maintains cleanliness of the program space.
- Safeguards Protected Health Information (written and electronically) and maintains confidentiality. This may include providing written documentation, scanning and/or uploading records into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. This may also include requesting and/or releasing client information or medical records.
We are focused on your development and will spend time helping you continue to grow as a Counselor Technician. However, here are some things that you will need prior to starting with ReDiscover:
- Availability to work a part-time schedule (24 hours a week), Saturday and Sunday from 7:00pm to 7:30am.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- A valid automobile operator’s license.
- Must carry all appropriate insurance on the vehicle being driven, necessary to comply with Missouri or Kansas State Law.
- Working knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as GSuite.
