The Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinic (BHUCC) is the first program of it's kind in the Kansas City area that provides the community immediate, same-day access to psychiatric medication for mental health and substance use needs. Through a multi-disciplinary approach, the BHUCC team provides care to clients every day of the week, including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the client's and community's needs.

What We Do
The Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinic (BHUCC) is the first program of it's kind in the Kansas City area that provides the community immediate, same-day access to psychiatric medication for mental health and substance use needs. Through a multi-disciplinary approach, the BHUCC team provides care to clients every day of the week, including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the client's and community's needs.
At ReDiscover, while every day is different, a typical day may include the following roles and responsibilities:
- Direct supervisory responsibilities including supervision of assigned department staff; based on the structure of the program, this could be exempt employees, non-exempt employees, or a combination of both.
- Significant cooperation with internal sources (administration, program managers, team leaders, etc…) and external sources (police, courts, managed care companies and all other referral sources), to ensure that the services provided are of the highest quality, accessible in a timely fashion, and produce positive outcomes for those we serve.
- Provides feedback and reports to appropriate management staff and, as appropriate, to funding sources.
- Actively participate in leadership meetings.
- Collect and maintain information about clients and document interactions within ReDiscover’s designated electronic medical record.
- Communicate and collaborate with an internal multi-disciplinary team to address various aspects of wellness and ensure positive communication regarding the coordination of client care.
- Availability to work a full-time schedule, (40-hours a pay-period), Monday 9-9, Tuesday 9-5, Thursday 9-5, Friday 9-9.
- Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a social science field (as defined by the Department of Mental Health).
- Active Provisional Counselor license through the state of Missouri or a Master Social Worker license with registered supervision with the Missouri Division of Professional Registration for licensure as a Clinical Social Worker.
- Active clinical license in the State of Missouri which includes: Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker is preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience in direct service provision in a mental health setting.
- Working knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders.
- Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as GSuite.
