Job Description
Redlands Community College is seeking candidates for the position of Administrative Assistant for the Upward Bound and Student Support Services programs. This is a federally funded, full-time position, requiring up to 40 hours per week. Under general supervision, this position involves providing administrative and program support for the program directors.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinating meetings
- Arranging travel
- Managing purchasing and accounts payable functions
- Screening and handling telephone communications
- Greeting and directing visitors
- Reconciling budgets
- Preparing correspondence
- General filing
- Maintaining program participant records
- Inputting participant data into the program database
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or comparable experience required, with emphasis on word processing and spreadsheets (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Three to five years of documented experience directly related to the specified duties and responsibilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to use word processing, database, and spreadsheet software
- Proficiency in verbal and written English
- Ability to work independently
- Sensitivity to the needs of economically and educationally disadvantaged individuals
A candidate with an educational and/or economic background similar to the Upward Bound target population is preferred.

Clery Statement
Redlands Community College is committed to providing a safe place to live, work, study and visit. Part of this effort includes sharing information regarding the safety and security of our campuses.
Redlands provides email notifications to all students, faculty and staff when a Clery Crime occurs in or near Redlands Community College campus or any of its sites. These notifications are primarily sent if the incident poses an ongoing safety threat as determined by the President of the College or his designee. The act requires colleges and universities to make “timely warnings,” known as “Safety Alerts” at Redlands, to campus community members about specific types of crime if an ongoing threat is believed to exist.
