Job Description

Redlands Community College is seeking candidates for a part-time position at Royse Ranch, limited to 25 hours per week.

Responsibilities include:

• Arena and ranch general maintenance.
• Painting, mowing, and weed eating.
• Fence building.
• Operating farm machinery and equipment.
• General care of animals (feeding, watering, cleaning pens, etc.).
• Using some chemicals and hazardous products.
• Working in dusty conditions.
• Working in all weather conditions.
• Lifting a minimum of 80 lbs. (e.g., bale of hay) during daily tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience preferred:

• Operating tractors with frontend loaders.
• Operating zero-turn mowers.
• Operating engine-driven tools (weed eaters, chainsaws, etc.).
• Cattle handling (gathering, sorting, loading, administering medication and vaccines).
• Tagging calves at birth without help.

Requirements:

• Current valid driver's license.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends and/or evenings as needed.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow operator manuals.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal directions.
• Enrollment in at least six (6) credit hours at Redlands Community College preferred, but not mandatory.

Clery Statement

Redlands Community College is committed to providing a safe place to live, work, study and visit. Part of this effort includes sharing information regarding the safety and security of our campuses.

Redlands provides email notifications to all students, faculty and staff when a Clery Crime occurs in or near Redlands Community College campus or any of its sites. These notifications are primarily sent if the incident poses an ongoing safety threat as determined by the President of the College or his designee. The act requires colleges and universities to make “timely warnings,” known as “Safety Alerts” at Redlands, to campus community members about specific types of crime if an ongoing threat is believed to exist.
