Job Description
Redlands Community College is seeking qualified candidates for our Student Services Specialist I position. This is a full-time, 12-month professional staff role. The salary range is $36,000 to $38,000 per year, with excellent benefits. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your skills in a fast-paced, student-centered environment. The Specialist will perform various tasks within the Admissions and Advising department, from recruiting prospective students to assisting them with the application process. Additionally, the Specialist will serve as an academic advisor for current students, guiding them through their journey at Redlands and providing retention services and referrals as needed.
Responsibilities include:
Admissions and Advising: Evaluate and process applications; correspond with prospective students; advise and enroll new, returning, and concurrent students.
Retention: Use an early alert case management system; provide referrals, interventions, and appropriate support; assist students with degree completion; stay current with trends and best practices in student retention.
Recruitment: Participate in college and career fairs, open houses, high school visits, and concurrent classroom visits; engage in off-campus recruiting activities, possibly including overnight travel; communicate with prospective students.
General: Lead or assist with special projects to support admissions, advising, recruitment, and retention; perform all duties in compliance with FERPA; serve on the scholarship committee; perform other duties as assigned.
The Specialist reports to the Assistant Director of Student Services and adheres to the educational philosophy of the college. The Specialist will work collaboratively with colleagues and professional peers and will also participate in meetings related to assigned areas.
Qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree (or the ability to complete a bachelor’s degree within 12 months of employment with Redlands). Excellent communication and customer service skills. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Clery Statement
Redlands Community College is committed to providing a safe place to live, work, study and visit. Part of this effort includes sharing information regarding the safety and security of our campuses.
Redlands provides email notifications to all students, faculty and staff when a Clery Crime occurs in or near Redlands Community College campus or any of its sites. These notifications are primarily sent if the incident poses an ongoing safety threat as determined by the President of the College or his designee.
