What are the responsibilities and job description for the C.N.A./Unit Secretary position at Redlands Community Hospital - TRANSITIONAL CARE UNIT (TCU)?
Under the supervision of licensed nursing staff and according to established procedure, performs routine service duties and basic patient/resident care procedures necessary to provide comfort and safety of patients. In doing so, takes vital signs, assists patients with personal hygiene and feeds and ambulates patients/residents. Maintains patient/resident environment in a clean and orderly condition. This position is also responsible for providing clerical support for the unit and works under general supervision and direction of the department director, manager, supervisor, or charge nurse, according to established policies and procedures. In doing so, transcribes physicians' orders, schedules diagnostic tests and therapies for patients, assembles and maintains patient’s charts, answers telephone and intercom calls, providing routine, approved information, relays other calls and messages, and maintains appropriate supplies and equipment levels .
EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:
- One-year experience in acute hospital setting preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year of clerical experience and computer knowledge, and background in a hospital setting, preferred.
- Completion of medical terminology course preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant required.
- Current CPR certification required.
- MAB certificate required within 6 months of hire.
- Elder Abuse training required within 60 days of hire.
