What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chef position at Redlands Community Hospital?
Under the direction of the Director of Food & Nutrition Department this position is responsible. for directing the daily operations of food production services including patient's meals, retail and catering operations. This position is responsible for planning menus for retail and catering operations as well as for developing patients' menus by working in collaboration the Clinical Dietitian ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Duties include but to limited to assigning and directing staff, executing catering functions, maintaining operating standards, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations related to patients' meals, catering and retail, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, and helping to ensure a safe work environment for employees working in the department by providing on-going safety training.QUALIFICATIONS :
- Degree from a technical, trade or vocational school preferred.
- Culinary certification strongly desired.
- Five years of commercial food production or related experience required.
- Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Current ServSafe certification required.
