The Nurse Extern II Role
Under the supervision of licensed nursing staff and in accordance with established guidelines, the Nurse Extern II is an active participant in the implementation of individualized patient care.
This includes vital sign monitoring, assisting with personal hygiene and daily living activities, feeding patients, and ambulating them safely.
The Nurse Extern II also obtains point-of-care blood glucose monitoring results.

Requirements
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification (preferably)
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification
- MAB certificate within 6 months of hire
- Current enrollment in an accredited school of nursing
- Successful completion of a critical care nursing course
- Status as a senior nursing student with expected graduation date within 12 months
- Unofficial transcripts with minimum GPA of 3.0 in nursing coursework
- Letter of recommendation from faculty
- Excellent communication skills
