What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mid-Level Okta Engineer position at RedMatter Solutions?

Position Summary: As a Mid-Level Okta Engineer, you will be responsible for configuring, customizing, integrating, deploying, administrating, and supporting Okta tenants in client production environments. You will play a crucial role in implementing Identity and Access Governance solutions that provide advanced authentication services and ensure secure information distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, integrate, and deploy Okta solutions in client environments.
- Implement authentication services such as passwordless authentication leveraging PIV/CAC/Smartcard technologies.
- Develop technical architectures for integrating identity management, access management, and access governance software into client infrastructure and applications.
- Document configuration and build procedures.
- Utilize programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, JSP/Servlets, and SQL.
- Utilize Okta’s capabilities such as workflow and SSO to enable authentication and authorization services.
- Enable federal, state, local, and higher education clients to protect against digital identity risks using IAM programs.
- Provide appropriate access to applications, systems, and data with advanced authentication mechanisms.
- Oversee privileged access management to ensure the security of sensitive resources.
- Adapt to changing priorities and multitask to achieve goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with a distributed team, often communicating virtually to support IAM applications.
- Identify and evaluate complex business and technology risks, internal controls, and opportunities for internal control improvement, with a focus on SAML 2.0.
- Maintain Okta certification (Okta Certified Professional or Okta Certified Administrator).
- Demonstrate experience with Azure AD or similar access management products from Okta, Ping, ForgeRock, etc.
- Develop integrated architecture for device and user authentication, leveraging Azure AD, Intune, and Okta.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in installing, integrating, and deploying Okta solutions.
- Familiar with SCIM, SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, biometrics, PIV/CAC/Smartcard authentication
- Experience working with cloud infrastructures, such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Proficiency in programming languages including REST API, AWS, Jenkins, Java, JavaScript, JSP/Servlets, and SQL.
- Proficiency in Identity & Access Governance, access control, and access request processes.
- Technical architecture experience integrating identity and access management solutions into client infrastructure.
- Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and remotely, while maintaining strong communication with the team in Rosslyn, VA and Washington, DC.
