POSITION TITLE: Night Crew Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Grocery
REPORTS TO: Grocery Manager / Store Director
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for stocking shelves and organizing inventory during the overnight shift in the grocery aisles. To ensure the store is fully stocked and presented for the guests when the store opens.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1) Assist in unloading any grocery merchandise that is delivered overnight
2) Safely transport grocery stock for storage to the sales floor.
3) Open cartons and price items (if needed) accurately.
4) Keep store shelves fully stocked according to tag allocations.
5) Assist in building store displays as directed by the Night Crew Leader.
6) Keep perishable merchandise rotated and pull out-of-code product as needed.
7) Control level of damaged goods by properly handling merchandise and proper rotation.
8) Properly present assigned aisle(s) prior to leaving at the end of scheduled work shift.
9) Observe policies and procedures established for each department.
10) Greet any guests who come into the store and be observant while on the sales floor.
11) Maintain a neat appearance according to the company’s dress code policy.
12) Adhering to safety regulations while handling products, using equipment like pallet jacks, and following procedures for lifting and stocking
13) Abide by all company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook.
SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1) Maintenance of price and protection program and notify manager in charge if any discrepancies are discovered.
2) Housekeeping of sales floor and back-room areas while on duty.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1) Ability to read and write to properly tag merchandise, maintain proper inventory level and ensure rotation of product.
2) Ability to unload, transport, and place merchandise in specific areas.
3) Must have the ability to retrieve and place merchandise on the top racks in the grocery aisles for proper storage. The top racking process may be 20% of the time working in the aisles during the shift.
4) Ability to lift up to seventy (70) pounds at least forty percent (40%) of the time.
5) Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
6) Must be able to stand upright for most of your scheduled work shift.
