Great opportunity to support this 150 year old national Financial organization as they go through a major transition moving their legacy applications and data to the Google Cloud Platform cloud. This is an enterprise scale transition which will include over 200 platforms by year s end!
You will be instrumental in helping to develop the gameplan for the transformation and automation of these systems. This role is for a Senior Engineer specializing in Google Cloud Platform with a strong background in Infrastructure as Code and a focus on Terraform. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. This effort is very large and their Operational Processes are maturing with the move to the Cloud, providing additional opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Google Cloud Platform Services and Resource provisioning
- BigQuery
- Composer
- GCS Buckets
- Dataproc
- Vertex AI
- Cloud SQL
- Others
- Bind roles to AD Groups and service accounts for above services
- Terraform scripting
- Build Terraform scripts for Service provisioning and role bindings
- Build Terraform scripts for monitoring and Alerting
- Environment support
- Perform Service upgrades
- Resolve platform problems in lower environments
- Support Production Support team to troubleshoot issues in higher environments
- Fix, and improve infrastructure continuously
- Troubleshoot operational issues related to infrastructure
- Monitor, fix, and improve infrastructure continuously
- Collaborate with internal teams and respective stakeholders to understand user requirements and implement technical solutions
- Develop self-service infrastructure provisioning, delivery pipelines, log and monitoring services
BACKGROUND
- Strong Google Cloud Platform Platform Provisioning Skill set
- In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Big Table, Big Query, Composer, etc.
- Strong experience on Google Cloud Platform with expertise in Terraform, including writing and maintaining Terraform configurations and modules
- Terraform Enterprise experience
- Terraform scripting
- Experience building Terraform scripts for Service provisioning and role bindings
- Experience building Terraform scripts for monitoring and Alerting
- Extensive experience in scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash)
- Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab)
- Strong understanding of Cloud architecture principles, security best practices, and networking in Google Cloud Platform
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and Agile methodologies
- Skilled in system-level architecture, like Linux or Windows
- Hashicorp Certification: Terraform Associate
- Google Cloud Certification
