RELOCATION ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE
In this role you will work independently coordinating with other departments within the organization on permitting efforts, surveying, selecting well pad locations and ensuring compliance with surface agreements and land restoration and reclamation projects.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with landowners, working interest owners, and governmental authorities while successfully negotiating surface-related agreements and settling surface damage claims.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Negotiate and draft surface-related agreements, including, surface use and damage agreements, surface leases, rights-of-way, and easements.
- Meet personally with landowners, government agencies, and other authorities for selecting well pad locations and other surface operations supporting development activities.
- Coordinate field surveys and assist in infrastructure surveying and mapping..
- Assists with negotiating mineral development and exploration agreements, including oil and gas leases and unit agreements.
- Assist in conducting rental reviews and extension negotiations.
- Stay abreast of industry activity, government regulations, legislation, farming practices, trends, land values and prices paid for surface rights in an acquisition area.
- Help to define strategy for mineral rights leasing programs.
- Initiate documentation for acquired surface rights and pipeline rights-of-way.
- Recommend compensation for rentals for surface use agreements, easements and pipeline rights-of-way.
- Mentor and review work performed by less experienced surface landmen.
BACKGROUND
- Senior level experience as a Surface Landman with prior experience in the Uinta basin.
- Advanced experience in negotiation, analysis, and interpretation.
- Advanced organizational, time management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in the use of ArcGIS.
- Member of American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL).
