Job Summary
The HUMAN RESOURCES OPERATIONS DIRECTOR is responsible for planning, leading, and direct HR initiatives and programs that support RedSail’s values and strategic objectives. The HUMAN RESOURCES OPERATIONS DIRECTOR will work to improve HR processes, employee engagement, retention, safety, wellness, employee relations, development, and overall employee satisfaction.
Key Duties
- Lead and mentor members of the HR/People Operations Team including payroll, benefits and HR Systems in delivering value to the organization.
- Act as a strategic advisor to business leaders.
- Advise managers on employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and resolve conflicts while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment law.
- Coach and mentor managers on effective leadership practices, performance feedback, and employee engagement.
- Participate in organizational design initiatives, workforce planning, and change management efforts to drive business transformation
- Maintain current knowledge of business goals and strategies to develop benchmarking around human capital needs.
- Develop and execute comprehensive HR strategies that align with the company's business objectives.
- Create and maintain employee policies related to employee conduct, terminations, employee handbook related items.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies.
- Manage employee concerns, address conflicts, and maintain positive relationships within the workforce.
- Oversee employee compensation structure, benefits packages, and ensure compliance with relevant laws.
- Ensure adherence to all employment laws and regulations regarding labor practices, discrimination, and safety.
- Develop and manage applicable areas of the HR department budget.
- Analyze HR metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop creative solutions to business challenges.
- Assist in structuring compensation and benefits packages and departmental budgets.
- Work with 3rd parties to develop benchmarking around human capital.
- Responsible for reporting on a variety of HR matters, initiatives, programs, policies, data, and trends.
- Ensure payroll information is submitted timely & accurately to the payroll manager and coordinate with payroll on special bonuses, annual increases, etc.
- Plan and facilitate the goal setting and annual performance review process once established as well as Employee Engagement Survey process.
- Keep abreast of emerging compensation and benefits practices and trends.
- Responsible for maintaining HR compliance and auditing.
Education/Training
- Bachelor's degree in human resources management or relevant business field
- Relevant HR certification (SHRM or HRCI Preferred)
Required Work Experience & Skills
- An experienced leader with at least 10 years of experience in Human Resources and at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience managing the payroll and benefits processes.
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels, build relationships, and influence decision-making.
- Ability to work directly with Executives to develop solutions to business challenges.
- Capacity to identify and resolve complex employee issues.
- Capability to analyze business needs and develop HR strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Thorough understanding of employment laws and regulations.
- Ability to interpret and utilize HR data to inform decision-making.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR practices including employee relations, and compensation.
- Strong understanding of benefits administration and scope of processes involved in managing benefit plans and packages.
- Capable of maintaining the right balance of empathy and business focus.
- Ability to make prudent decisions and work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to run reports in HRIS and provide appropriate commentary on reporting provided.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must be self-driven and able to work independently.
