An exciting opportunity awaits for an experienced IT Procurement Administrator to join our client's team located near Albany, NY. In this role, you will oversee the sourcing and acquisition of IT products, services, and contracts while ensuring that every purchase meets high standards of quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with both company policies and industry regulations. Responsibilities of the IT Procurement Administrator will include : -Serve as the main point of contact for external IT vendor communications, ensuring streamlined interactions and sustained partnerships.-Identify, evaluate, and recommend potential vendors for all IT-related products and services. Present options and negotiate favorable contracts, pricing, and terms to secure competitive deals.-Assess potential risks in contracts and statements of work, offering recommendations to minimize exposure. Regularly review active contracts for optimal coverage and advise on service adjustments to reduce unnecessary expenditures.-Work closely with the finance team to create purchase orders, monitor their lifecycle, and ensure on-time delivery. Assist in analyzing spending trends to identify inefficiencies.-Monitor vendor performance, manage vendor scorecards, and escalate service issues as needed. Provide regular and ad-hoc reports that detail IT assets, contracts, and overall procurement performance.-Maintain a comprehensive database of both physical IT assets and software inventory, track asset lifecycles, and drive decommissioning or replacement processes. Ensure all software in use is properly licensed and address any discrepancies with vendors.-Collaborate with legal and executive teams to develop and enforce procurement and asset management policies, ensuring consistency across the organization.-Contribute to the preparation and oversight of the IT budget, ensuring that procurement activities align with financial objectives.Qualifications of the IT Procurement Administrator : -A minimum of 5 years in procurement, including at least 2 years in IT procurement, demonstrating progressive responsibility within large, multi- national organizations.-Familiarity with procurement and entitlement management software, as well as ERP systems. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerBI are essential for data analysis and reporting.-Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with executive leadership and diverse internal stakeholders.-A strong data-driven mindset, capable of analyzing complex information to make informed decisions. Exceptional organizational skills and a meticulous attention to detail are critical.-A proven track record in negotiating contracts to secure the most favorable terms.-Experience in the distribution and manufacturing sectors is preferred. Professional certifications such as Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or equivalent are considered a plus.
