Communications & Marketing/Administrative Assistant to Superintendent
Primary Purpose:
Communications & Marketing Duties
- Promote positive public relations between the school district and community. Prepare and provide information to the public about the activities, goals, and policies of the school district. Direct and manage the district’s public relations activities. Distribute pertinent information about the district and its activities to employees and to the community through a variety of media. Attendance at school events during and after school hours required.
Administrative Assistant to Superintendent Duties
- Work under minimum supervision to ensure the efficient operation of the superintendent’s office and provide administrative services to the superintendent and board of trustees. Attend, record minutes of board meetings, and handle confidential information. Engage in frequent contact with all levels of district employees, outside agencies, and the general public. Responsible for school elections and on-site leadership of clerical employees assigned for school elections.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, journalism, communications, or a related field.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated skills in writing, editing, and public speaking
Thorough knowledge of media relations, public relations, marketing functions
Ability to implement policy and procedure
Ability to interpret data
Ability to use computer to design and produce district publications.
Experience:
Two years in marketing, public relations, journalism or communications experience or equivalent in public education.
Salary Range – TBD based on qualifications & experience- 12 Month (226 Days)
