We are seeking an experienced Tax Senior to help prepare and detail review tax returns in our office. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing tax returns, assisting in tax projects, including the delivery of high-quality tax work products and maintaining effective communication. In this position, there is an opportunity for advancement upon demonstration of abilities and a commitment to the profession and the firm.
The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $115,000 annually.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and initial review of simpler individual, corporation, partnership and nonprofit returns
- Prepare trusts, estate and gift tax returns, knowledgeable of estate & trusts a plus
- Assume tax preparation for more complex tax returns, including consolidation, and returns with multi-state, and international issues
- Assists with year-end tax planning and quarterly estimates; Assists with year-end projections for high-net-worth individuals
- Respond to inquiries from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and other tax authorities, and Interface with tax authorities to assist with gathering information for local, state and federal tax audits
- Provide oversight, training and support to interns and staff, and promote open communication to their manager and partner
- Participate in tax research projects on a variety of tax issues, and assists with training on various related topics
- Proactively manage project deadlines to ensure delivery of work product based on client and management team expectations and statutory deadlines. Openly communicate with managers, and partners about the status and progress of tasks and projects.
- Continue to develop, maintain, and improve knowledge of local, state, and federal tax rules, regulations, and guidance.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 4-5 years of relevant tax experience in public accounting or a combination of corporate tax and public accounting experience, required.
- CPA preferred; EA may be considered.
- Clear, concise, and professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organization skills, detail-oriented and can handle a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Experience with tax and accounting software packages – QuickBooks, CCH ProSystem Engagement, CCH Axcess Tax, CCH Axcess Document and CCH Axcess Workstream, a plus.
