Position: Fire Alarm Field Service Technician – Lead, Mentor, and Innovate
We are looking for a highly skilled Fire Alarm Field Service Technician who thrives on solving complex challenges, has strong programming expertise, and is passionate about leading and mentoring junior technicians. What You’ll Do:
- Program various systems and ensure accurate functionality during initial acceptance testing
- Perform Preventative maintenance inspections and provide plans & recommendations
- Diagnose & troubleshoot issues to keep clients safe and compliant
- Provide technical support to customers and junior team members
- Light installation work as needed
- Review and submit critical documentation to ensure compliance
- Be a key player in a growing company, driving positive change
While responsibilities will vary, there may be times when one aspect of the role takes precedence over others.
What We’re Looking For:
- 7 years of hands-on experience in fire alarm installation and programming
- Strong troubleshooting skills and in-depth Life Safety knowledge
- Excellent communication – ability to work with customers, technicians, and office staff professionally
- Proven leadership & mentoring abilities – we want someone who enjoys teaching and guiding junior technicians
- Self-motivated & adaptable – ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
- Attention to detail & problem-solving mindset
- Valid California Driver’s License (clean record required)
- NICET Level II (or higher) certification
- Ability to read and interpret job-site drawings
- Must live within 50 miles of Redwood City
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience with Potter, Siemens, Simplex Firelite, EST, Silent Knight, Notifier, Honeywell, DMP, Radionics
