Position Type: Full-time (32-40 hours per week)
Location: Gualala & Point Arena Medical Clinics
Salary Range: $21.00-30.00/hr (experience and education dependent)
Summary: The Phlebotomist is responsible for providing laboratory assistance in a variety of ways and for
performing basic laboratory procedures on patients who come to the clinic including venipuncture, CBC, triage,
piccolo, stat strep, blood glucose, pregnancy testing and urinalysis. Additionally, the phlebotomist has direct
contact with the patients and therefore must maintain a level of trust and confidence while also explaining the
procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Perform laboratory testing for primary care and urgent care patients
- Perform venipuncture or capillary puncture of patients as necessary
- Ability to work independently with strong sense of focus, task-oriented
sensitive, appropriate and non-judgmental
• Work well under pressure and maintain a consistently pleasant and professional demeanor when
communicating with the public and staff
• Must have strong interpersonal communication and written skills
• Be able to adhere to RCMS policy, procedures and the professional code of ethics in all situations
• Current CPR certification
• Immunizations/vaccinations & annual TB test required for all staff
• Must have a valid in-state driver’s license, and a clean driving record
• Prolonged periods standing, sitting, walking, and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
